Returns -- Through April 2009

As shown in the table below, the Covered Calls Advisor Portfolio (CCAP) has outperformed the Russell 3000 benchmark by 15.0 percentage points (13.02%+1.98%) so far in 2009:











1. April 2009 Year-to-Date Results:

CCAP Absolute Return (Jan 1st through Apr 30th, 2009) = +13.02%

Benchmark Russell 3000(IWV) Absolute Return(Jan 1st through Apr 30th,2009) = -1.98%

2. Prior Years Results:

The Covered Calls Advisor Portfolio (CCAP) was begun in September, 2007. The annualized returns achieved for 2007 and 2008 compared with the Russell 3000 benchmark results were as follows:

  1. so if you were slightly bearish would u buy something like SDS and sell covered calls?

  2. I wouldnt recommend purchasing SDS and selling covered calls on it if you were bearish, due to the extremely volatile nature of SDS. If you are slightly bearish I would instead recommend buying a leveraged bull etf such as SSO or BGU, and then selling deeply in the money calls. I did such a thing earlier this month by purchasing TNA which returns triple the small cap index at around $24 and then selling a $20 call for a potential 7% gain (118% annualized)
